# Quickstart

Get started with Cone in just a few minutes. This guide covers installation, account creation, and connecting to your first server.

2. Click **Download for Windows**.
3. Open the `.exe` file and follow the installer instructions.
4. Launch Cone after installation.

2. Tap **Sign Up**.
3. Enter your **email** and create a **password**.
4. Verify your email using the confirmation link.

1. Log in to the Cone app.
2. Tap **Connect**.
3. By default, Cone selects an **optimal server** for you.

### Paste the api link into the app

1. Open the Happ app.
2. Click on the "+" icon on the top right corner.
3. Tap on **Subscription URL**

4. Paste the link into the **URL** box, then tap on **Done**

## **Step 3: Connect**

1. Tap on the **Connect** button
2. First time will ask you to **Add VPN Configuratio**. Click Allow and enter your pin/touch ID/face ID.
3. Your device will be connected.

## Step 3 — Add Your Subscription to Shadowrocket

1. Open Shadowrocket
2. Tap the **+** button in the top-right corner
3. Select **Subscribe**
4. In the URL field, paste your Cone subscription link
5. Tap **Save**

## Step 4 — Connect

1. Tap the switch at the top right of the app to turn it ON

When your iPhone shows:

> “Shadowrocket Would Like to Add VPN Configurations”

Tap: **Allow**

You may also be asked for:

* Face ID
* Touch ID
* Passcode

This is normal.

The first time connecting may take a few seconds.

✅ When connected:

* The switch will turn ON
* A VPN icon will appear on your iPhone status bar

Your VPN is now working.

## Step 6 — Test Your Connection

Open:

* YouTube
* Google
* ChatGPT
* Netflix
* Instagram

If websites and apps load normally, setup is complete.

### “Connected” But Websites Don’t Open

Usually this means the current server is temporarily unavailable.

Try another server.

### The VPN Switch Turns Off Automatically

This usually happens because:

* VPN permission was not allowed
* Another VPN app is installed
* iPhone network temporarily failed

Try restarting your iPhone and reconnecting.

### Shadowrocket Says “Timeout”

Usually caused by:

* Poor internet connection
* Network restrictions
* Current server issue

Try:

* Switching Wi-Fi/mobile data
* Changing servers
* Updating subscription

   1. Open **Shadowrocket**
   2. Tap the **+** button (top right)
   3. Change “Type” → **Subscribe**
   4. Paste the copied link in **URL**

⚠️ **If the API doesn’t work**:

* Make sure Shadowrocket is updated to the **latest version**
* No other VPN/Proxy is running
* You allowed Shadowrocket **network access** in iPhone settings

## 🔌 Step 2: Connect

1. In Shadowrocket, select any server from the list
2. Tap the **switch** (top-right) to turn it on
3. First time? → It will ask to create a VPN profile → **Allow** & use Face ID / Touch ID / PIN

2. Scroll to the Quick Import section and tap on Copy

### Paste the api link into the app

1. Open the Shadowrocket app.
2. Click on the "+" icon on the top right corner.
3. Change the "Type" to **subscribe**.
4. Paste the link into the URL box and click **Done**.

2. No other VPN/Proxy is connected
3. You allowed the app network access on your phone

## **Step 2: Connect**

1. Select a server from the server list and toggle the connection switch on the top-right.
2. If it is the first time setting up the app, it will ask you to allow the creation of a VPN profile. Click Allow and enter your pin/touch ID/face ID.

3. Open the FLClash app, tap on *Profiles*  >  ➕  >  **URL** Obtain profile through URL

Modes:

Global: All connections go through the app

Rule: Websites go to different servers based on pre-configured rule sets.

Make sure to **turn the "System Proxy" switch OFF before quitting the app,** or you won't have any internet if you do so (i.e., a kill switch).

To fix it, restart the app and turn the "System Proxy" switch OFF, and then quit the app.

## Additional Steps \[IMPORTANT]

### Enable TUN/TAP

If you want to play games with Clash or have all apps go through Clash, you need to enable TUN/TAP Mode.

1. Go to the "General" tab
2. Click "Manage" next to "TAP Device."
3. Click "Install"

Now reconnect.

### Windows Store apps

Windows Store apps do not go through the VPN by default, even when TAP is enabled. You need to force them by using the UWP Loopback Helper.

1. Go to the "Settings" tab
2. Click on "Loopback unlock tool"
3. If there's a popup, click "No."
4. Select all the apps you want to force through the VPN
5. Click "Save Changes."

### Enable Start with Windows

If you want Clash to automatically start when you boot your computer, you need to enable this option.

1. Go to the "Settings" tab
2. Tap on Application
3. Toggle the "Auto Launch" switch

Make sure to **turn the "System Proxy" switch OFF before quitting the app,** or you won't have any internet if you do so (i.e., a kill switch).

To fix it, restart the app and turn the "System Proxy" switch OFF, and then quit the app.

## Additional Steps \[IMPORTANT]

### Install the TAP engine

If you want to play games with Clash or have all apps go through Clash, you need to install the TAP engine.

1. Go to the "General" tab
2. Click "Manage" next to "TAP Device."
3. Click "Install"

Now reconnect.

### Windows Store apps

Windows Store apps do not go through the VPN by default, even when TAP is enabled. You need to force them by using the UWP Loopback Helper.

1. Go to the "General" tab
2. Click "Launch Helper" next to "UWP Loopback."
3. If there's a popup, click "No."
4. Select all the apps you want to force through the VPN
5. Click "Save Changes."

### Enable Start with Windows

If you want Clash to automatically start when you boot your computer, you need to enable this option.

1. Go to the "General" tab
2. Toggle the "Start with Windows" switch

### Kill all connections when changing server

By default, old connections will not be redirected to the new server but will continue going to the old server until the timeout.

This creates problems when you're switching servers to watch Netflix or if you need a specific IP address as the websites you've just visited will still be going through the old server.

To kill all connections (and therefore forcibly reconnect via the new server), do this:

1. Go to "Settings."
2. Scroll down to "Connections."
3. Select "All" next to "Break when proxy change."
4. Also toggle "Break when Profile change" and "Break when Mode change."

### How can I play games with Clash for Windows?

You need to install the TAP Device (see above) and connect to a server that supports UDP.

### Spotify/OneDrive/Other app doesn't work

Windows Store apps don't go through Clash by default. You need to force them to go through by using the UWP Loopback Helper (see [above](broken://pages/-MNiEv3ET0lwwu_uRTrV#windows-store-apps)).

If it still doesn't work, make sure you've installed the TAP interface (see above).

### Netflix/other website is using another server to connect instead of the one I selected.

mode,ruleruleruleYou have probably selected "rule" mode, and the Netflix website is being redirected to another server based on the Netflix rule set. Select the server you want under "Netflix" in the server list.

### Modes

**Global (System Proxy): All apps** that use the system proxy settings are proxied (like web browsers). To use the system proxy, some apps must be configured.

**Global (TUN/TAP):** Through the VPN, all websites and apps are proxied. Games, VoIP, and video conferencing, as well as web browsing, Netflix, and Youtube, etc.

**Global (Non-System Proxy):** On two ports, a SOCKS5 and HTTP server is started, but the system proxy settings are not enabled. OGSpace servers will only be used by programs that you explicitly notify to use the proxy.

**Bypass LAN and China (Non-System Proxy):** On two ports, a SOCKS5 and HTTP server is started, but the system proxy settings are not enabled. OGSpace servers will only be used by programs that you explicitly notify to use the proxy AND THAT ARE NOT CHIINESE WEBSITES OR APPS.

**Bypass LAN and China (System Proxy)—EXCEPT** FOR CHINESE WEBSITES AND APPS, This proxies all apps that use the system proxy settings (like web browsers). Those who want to connect directly to Wechat, Taobao, and other Chinese websites and apps will find this useful.

**Bypass LAN and China (TUN/TAP)—EXCEPT** FOR CHINESE WEBSITES AND APPS, the VPN proxies all websites and apps. Those who want to connect directly to Wechat, Taobao, and other Chinese websites and apps will find this useful.

## Troubleshooting

### 1. Download Issues

Downloading the app using Microsoft Edge will sometimes show a prompt to trust the downloaded app.

Follow the instructions below to solve this issue

1. &#x20;After the app is done downloading, it will show the prompt below. Tap on the 3-dot  on the right and click on *Keep*

5. Click on Open file to run the installer

### 2. Cannot find Privoxy

This means your antivirus has quarantined/blocked part of the app. Open your antivirus software, navigate to the quarantine/virus chest tab, and restore the privoxy.exe program to it's location.&#x20;

You may want to add an exception to the folder as well so the antivirus doesn't block it again in the future.

You can also re-download the app from our website to restore the entire program. This will require adding the API link back in.

### 3. Problem connecting after upgrading Netch app

Open Netch. Click Options > Remove Netch Firewall Rules.

Also try: Modes > Reload Modes.

### 4. Servers don't connect

If you're using the TUN/TAP mode, try disconnecting and reconnecting. If it still fails, try switching to the System Proxy mode instead.

Make sure you are using the correct API link (APIs differ between Netch versions)

If the issue still persists, check your computer time. For v2ray servers, your computer time must be within 90 seconds of the correct time. If it's not, either sync your time with the internet or adjust it to the correct time in the computer's settings.

### 5. Mode list doesn't show

Instead, you are likely running an old version of Windows or lack some dependencies. If you can't see any modes, we recommend switching to [v2rayN ](broken://pages/-LuS1yU-6IlBQB6jZ8vx)instead, as troubleshooting which dependencies are lacking will likely be quite complicated.

### 6. Does not work on Windows 7

Netch needs various dependencies that are native on Windows 10, but which are lacking on Windows 7. We recommend switching to [SSR ](broken://pages/-MF19G1RFywY-FsTypnK)on Windows 7.

If you still want to try using Netch on Windows 7, you can install the update package from Microsoft:

Global: All connections go through the app

Rule: Websites go to different servers based on pre-configured rule sets.

Make sure to **turn the "System Proxy" switch OFF before quitting the app,** or you won't have any internet if you do so (i.e., a kill switch).

To fix it, restart the app and turn the "System Proxy" switch OFF, and then quit the app.

## Additional Steps \[IMPORTANT]

### Enable TUN/TAP

If you want to play games with Clash or have all apps go through Clash, you need to enable TUN/TAP Mode.

1. Go to the "General" tab
2. Click "Manage" next to "TAP Device."
3. Click "Install"

Now reconnect.

### Windows Store apps

Windows Store apps do not go through the VPN by default, even when TAP is enabled. You need to force them by using the UWP Loopback Helper.

1. Go to the "Settings" tab
2. Click on "Loopback unlock tool"
3. If there's a popup, click "No."
4. Select all the apps you want to force through the VPN
5. Click "Save Changes."

### Enable Start with Windows

If you want Clash to automatically start when you boot your computer, you need to enable this option.

1. Go to the "Settings" tab
2. Tap on Application
3. Toggle the "Auto Launch" switch

If it is the first time using ClashX, a pop up will appear saying that the app is from an unknown developer. You need to allow this app to open.

The first time ClashX runs, you will be prompted to install a plugin. This plugin is used to set up the system proxy, otherwise you will need to enter your administrator password each time you connect to the VPN. Click "Install" and macOS will prompt for the user password.

How to change your DNS server on Windows

### **Step 1: Open the Control Panel**

Click on the Windows **Start** ⊞ menu and type **control panel** in the search bar. Click on the “Control Panel” application that appears.

### **Step 2: Open Network and Sharing Center**

In Control Panel, click on “Network and Internet”and then “Network and Sharing Center”.

### **Step 3: Choose the connection**

In the Network and Sharing Center, choose the internet connection you want to change the DNS settings for. Your active connection is usually named “Wi-Fi” or “Ethernet” and is located on the right-hand side of the window.

### **Step 4: Change adapter settings**

In the new window, you will see general information about your connection. Click on the “Properties” button.

### **Step 5: Choose Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)**

In the “Properties” window, scroll down to find “Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)” and click on it to highlight it.

### **Step 6: Click on Properties**

Click on the “Properties” button located below the list of network protocols.

### **Step 7: Choose “Use the following DNS server addresses”**

In the Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) Properties window, click on the radio button next to “Use the following

### **Step 8: Input the DNS server**

In the “Preferred DNS server” field, enter: **8.8.8.8**

In the “Alternate DNS server” field, enter: **8.8.4.4**

### **Step 9: Save the changes**

Click on the “OK” button to save the changes you made to the DNS settings.

### **Step 10: Restart Windows**

Restart your computer for the changes to take immediate effect: click the Windows **Start** ⊞ menu, click the ⏻ power button, and then select **Restart**.

To undo the changes, select the option “Obtain DNS server address automatically” at step 7. This action reverts your settings back to your Internet Provider’s default DNS server.
